I have a background in economics, a fondness for collaborative design, and I am passionate about driving the institutional and systemic change needed to enable rapid decarbonization and space for more-than-human thriving on Earth.
What I am doing now
- Consulting/research: Exploring the potential for digital infrastructure to build state capacity to navigate the transition to net zero. This includes consulting with the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the LSE Grantham Research Institute's Just Transition Finance Lab.
- Teaching: Over the last year, I have started a helped teach a few modules [aka courses to North American readers] at the UCL Institute for Innovation in Public Purpose as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant. This included leading weekly seminars for modules including New Economic Thinking and the Economics of Public Value, Making Decisions: Evidence and Evaluation, and Rethinking Capitalism.
- Getting settled in London.
- Maintaining connections with home (Southwestern BC, the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən-, SENĆOŦEN-, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim-, and hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking Peoples).
Thanks to Derek Sivers (via George Benson) for inspiring this 'now' section. I'll aim to keep this up to date.
A picture that guides me:

We (humans) have collectively developed the capacity to reshape earth systems, and the greed of a few is pushing us beyond safe limits. Earth system stewardship would seem to be the only desirable option from here. How will we develop the collective capacity to thrive in balance? Image source: Steffen et al. (2018) Pathways in the Anthropocene, PNAS.
Something I am particularly proud of
Between 2018-2021, I co-founded and then managed the University of British Columbia Climate Hub, a hybrid student-staff research, policy, and action hub advancing climate justice. I helped secure more than $500,000 for the initiative and worked with the UBC President, student leaders, and dozens of staff and faculty to develop a new climate change strategy for the university.
Showing off/having fun
March 4, 2025: Currently working on this painting of an arbutus tree. Reminds me of home, feels cozy.
